Du bitume au sacré — Still Under Construction

Before Homecore, there was a kid from the banlieue raised the hard way, with street culture as a first language.
That kid was Alexandre Guarneri. Thirty years after founding one of French hip-hop’s defining labels, he has gone back through his own story to ask how you take apart what you were taught in order to find your own way. Du bitume au sacré, published by Jouuue Editions, is where he works on that question without pretending to close it. The book is short, illustrated and openly personal, moving between the streets that formed him and what occupies him now: meditation, Gumjo, a shelf of books on spirituality. No conversion story, no before-and-after. Just someone still under construction at fifty-something, and honest enough to say so.
Alexandre will be at the shop for the evening to present the book and sign copies, with music and a drink. We will also have a table set up for anyone who wants an introduction to scopa — some things are learned the same way they get passed down.
