Fly Art Vol. 1 — Unearthing the Graphic Soul of Hip-Hop

From Paris to the suburbs, a generation built its identity through flyers — hand-drawn, photocopied, passed from hand to hand at parties and concerts. Long forgotten, these fragile papers now resurface as living archives of early French Hip-Hop.
To celebrate the release of Fly Art Vol. 1, the first issue of a new zine series by Le Grand Jeu and Uncle Texaco, join us at Starcow on Wednesday, October 15, from 6 PM.
Printed in a collector 10-inch format, this inaugural volume gathers dozens of original flyers from the 1980s and 1990s — scanned, restored, and contextualized — coming from the archives of pioneers who shaped the first Hip-Hop parties in France.
Each volume in the series opens a window onto these rare, pre-digital flyers — vibrant fragments of a movement in motion, bridging graphic energy, social history, and collective memory.
