SUMMARY:Silly Little Projects Vol. II — D.I.Y. Trying
DESCRIPTION:Some objects are impossible to throw away and useless to keep. A ticket stub\, a broken earring\, a key to a door that no longer exists. \nThat is where Alisa Cayoo starts. The Paris-based designer builds one-of-a-kind chains out of found and sentimental objects — the name comes from cailloux\, the pebbles you pick up and pocket without knowing why. She joins Silly Little Projects\, the London magazine founded by Lucy Murrey\, for an afternoon of collective chain-making at the shop. \nBring your own objects\, charms or tiny treasures — or pick from the collection on the table — and turn them into a keychain or bag charm that is yours alone. Materials and wine are provided. \nThe session also marks the arrival of Silly Little Projects Vol. II: D.I.Y. TRYING\, a DIY-couture catalogue and activity book that argues\, in an age of passive scrolling\, that trying too hard is worth defending. Places are limited and booking is required. \n📖 Silly Little Projects Vol. II — DIY Jewellery Workshop with Alisa Cayoo\n🗓 Saturday\, September 5th | 🕓 4 – 7 P.M.\n📍 Le Grand Jeu\, 15 passage de Ménilmontant\, Paris 11\n🎟 Tickets: €35\, or €50 with a copy of the magazine

SUMMARY:Trente-Cinq — Three Letters from Namur
DESCRIPTION:An MC warms up a crowd\, somewhere in Namur\, some year in the nineties: three letters\, a group you don’t need introducing\, NBS\, make some noise. That tape still exists\, and so does the crew. Namur Break Sensation have been at it for thirty-five years\, which in b-boy terms is closer to a geological era than a career. Trente-Cinq\, published by Wal’Style\, is what they pulled out of the boxes to mark it — 68 pages in black and white\, A5\, written by Guillaume Roose and designed by Julien Roose. Flyers\, photographs\, jams\, faces. Not a monument\, more a crew talking among themselves and letting you listen in. \nBelgian hip-hop rarely gets told from the inside\, and almost never from Wallonia. This does both\, without the grand claims that usually come with an anniversary book. \n📖 Trente-Cinq — 35 Years of Namur Break Sensation\, with Wal’Style and Jihef aka Rage 156\n🗓 Friday\, September 19th | 🕕 4 – 7 P.M.\n📍 Le Grand Jeu\, 15 passage de Ménilmontant\, Paris 11

SUMMARY:Du bitume au sacré — Still Under Construction
DESCRIPTION:Before Homecore\, there was a kid from the banlieue raised the hard way\, with street culture as a first language. \nThat kid was Alexandre Guarneri. Thirty years after founding one of French hip-hop’s defining labels\, he has gone back through his own story to ask how you take apart what you were taught in order to find your own way. Du bitume au sacré\, published by Jouuue Editions\, is where he works on that question without pretending to close it. The book is short\, illustrated and openly personal\, moving between the streets that formed him and what occupies him now: meditation\, Gumjo\, a shelf of books on spirituality. No conversion story\, no before-and-after. Just someone still under construction at fifty-something\, and honest enough to say so. \nAlexandre will be at the shop for the evening to present the book and sign copies\, with music and a drink. We will also have a table set up for anyone who wants an introduction to scopa — some things are learned the same way they get passed down. \n📖 Du bitume au sacré — Book launch with Alexandre Guarneri\n🗓 Thursday\, September 24th | 🕕 6.30 – 9.30 P.M.\n📍 Le Grand Jeu\, 15 passage de Ménilmontant\, Paris 11
