SUMMARY:Beyond the Streets — Paris on the Walls
DESCRIPTION:Paris has never stopped speaking the language of graffiti. From metro lines to temporary walls\, the city has long been a playground for a culture shaped by urgency\, visibility and the desire to leave a trace. With Beyond the Streets\, that history takes on a new scale through a major exhibition dedicated to graffiti\, street art and underground culture. \nCurated by Roger Gastman\, Beyond the Streets Paris brings together more than one hundred international artists through installations\, rare archives\, photography\, fashion and large-scale works exploring the global impact of graffiti on contemporary art\, music and visual culture. Le Grand Jeu co-curated the exhibition’s hip-hop section\, working alongside Gastman to build a transatlantic narrative connecting the French and American scenes — from the foundational role of hip-hop in shaping graffiti’s identity to the exchanges that tied New York and Paris across decades of shared practice. \nPresented at La Villette\, the exhibition moves beyond the idea of a traditional retrospective\, tracing how graffiti evolved from an underground practice into a major cultural force influencing art\, design\, music and public space. \n📖 Beyond the Streets Paris — Exhibition Announcement\n🗓 May 27 — August 30\, 2026\n📍 Grande Halle de la Villette\, Paris 19

SUMMARY:Before It Dries While It Lasts — Writing\, Water & Disappearance
DESCRIPTION:Before It Dries While It Lasts is an experiment in writing as a temporary act — stripped of its usual claim to permanence. Working with water\, Edoardo Baraggioli creates wall interventions that evaporate over time\, questioning mark-making\, duration and disappearance within the field of graffiti. \nFor this evening at Le Grand Jeu\, Edoardo will present his fanzine and screen documentation of his practice\, followed by a participatory workshop: visitors are invited to intervene directly on the walls around the bookshop using water vaporizers — a collective experience that is at once performative and photographic. Secure your spot here! \n Before It Dries While It Lasts — Zine Launch\, Signing and Vaporizers Workshop with Edoardo Baraggioli Thursday\, July 16th | from 6PM Le Grand Jeu\, 15 passage de Ménilmontant\, Paris 11

SUMMARY:Le Premier Métro — Graffiti\, Departure & the Search Elsewhere
DESCRIPTION:H. is a graffiti writer. For years\, his name — ANY1 — has marked the walls of Paris. But Parisian life starts to wear thin\, and he sets off to see whether the grass is greener elsewhere: a one-way ticket to Australia\, in search of new walls and new air. \nLe Premier Métro is a novel anchored in the years 2015–2020\, threading real names from the Parisian and Australian graffiti scenes through H.’s journey — a story of restlessness\, departure\, and the search for paint and meaning beyond the city that made him. \nLe Grand Jeu invites you to the launch of Le Premier Métro\, in the presence of author Olivier Cachetout. An evening to meet the writer\, hear the story behind H. and ANY1\, and pick up a signed copy. \n📖 Le Premier Métro — Book Launch & Signing with Olivier Cachetout\n🗓 Thursday\, July 23rd | 🕓 from 6PM\n📍 Le Grand Jeu\, 15 passage de Ménilmontant\, Paris 11

SUMMARY:Out of Print — Two Days of Graffiti Print Culture
DESCRIPTION:Graffiti has always lived in print. Long before it entered museums\, the culture circulated on paper — magazines passed hand to hand\, fanzines photocopied in small runs\, catalogues that sold out and never came back. To collect these publications is to hold onto a history that was never really meant to last: printed cheaply\, traded freely\, and gone almost as soon as it appeared. \nOUT OF PRINT brings that history back into circulation for two days. Conceived as a graffiti and art book market — from collectors for collectors — it gathers publishers\, booksellers and independent sellers to present new releases alongside rare\, out-of-print and special publications. Books\, magazines\, fanzines\, exhibition catalogues\, DVDs\, VHS tapes\, stickers\, toys and prints: the full material culture of writing\, from established houses to self-published projects. A place to browse\, discover\, exchange\, and reconnect with titles that are long sold out\, hard to find\, or simply special. \nHeld in the hall of the “Kinderschutzbund” next to the St. Magni Church\, the market runs alongside the Colour & Soul Festival. Free entry for all. \n📖 OUT OF PRINT — Graffiti & Art Book Market\, From Collectors for Collectors\n🗓 Friday July 31st (Pre-Opening 5–8PM) & Saturday August 1st\, 2026 (11AM–6PM)\n📍 Hall of the “Kinderschutzbund”\, Hinter der Magnikirche 6A\, 38100 Braunschweig\, Germany
