Metrocard – New York Stories

In a moment where memories of New York blend with imagination, Metrocard invites a walk through the city’s first impressions, seen through a curious and poetic gaze. Beyond a simple travel diary, it explores fragments of story around Clara and encounters in everyday urban life.

Valentine Métayer transforms these negatives into a Metrocard-format zine, an accordion fold where each image suggests a story, a doubt, an immersion. Between photography and fiction, the project questions how we interpret the city and visual narrative, inviting the reader into an intimate, fragmented universe.

For the launch, the bookstore will present Metrocard, offering attendees a chance to explore its unique format and imagery up close.
